Joseph "Jay" Bogdan
Joseph Bogdan is a registered pharmacist and an attorney. He received his Pharmaceutical Doctorate degree from the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy at Chicago and his law degree while attending night school at John Marshall Law School in Chicago. He has his own law practice which handles healthcare and other law cases. His legal focus is representing healthcare professionals to state boards and federal agencies. He is also an expert witness in many different pharmaceutical cases including cases dealing with controlled substances. Attorney Bogdan has represented clients in the following types of matters:
- Pharmacies, wholesale distributors, long term care facilities and health care professionals to governmental agencies such as the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, Food & Drug Administration, Offices of Inspector Generals, Medicaid/Medicare and Professional Regulatory agencies.
- Address licensure issues for professionals, healthcare providers and entities.
- Provide consultation services to clients for various accreditation and healthcare related matters including Durable Medical Equipment and pharmacy and medical audits.
- Deliver lectures on health care legal matters to professional organizations.
- Provide consultation to various healthcare corporations, companies, and law firms regarding pharmacy and healthcare matters such as billing audits, contract review, and legal consultation.
- Act as an expert to law firm health care class action suits.
- Support associations and individuals to both federal and state legislators.
- Is a member of various state and federal pharmacy and healthcare committees.
- Provide opinion and guidance in matters associated with the representation of pharmacies to various auditors and Pharmacy Benefits Managers (PBMs).
- Represent pharmacies in the litigation of audit results within administrative and arbitration legal venues.
- Assist pharmacies in their appeal to auditor and PBM audit result discrepancies.
- Follow and provide pharmacies with updates in pharmacy and healthcare laws which could impact audit discrepancy results and appeal options.
- Consultation services to assist pharmacies to be in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements.
- Assist pharmacies in the compliance of Fraud, Waste and Abuse regulations which govern Medicare Part D prescription plan compliance.
